Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Part A: Terms of Service
A1. About Frolic
Frolic is a platform run by Frolic Logistics Private Limited. It connects people who are making a trip (travellers) with people who want a parcel carried along the same route (senders).
Frolic is an intermediary. It is not a courier and does not carry parcels itself. Each booking is an arrangement between a sender and a traveller.
A2. Who can use Frolic
You must be 18 or older and sign in with a mobile number you control.
To post trips, you must also verify your identity, driving licence and vehicle registration, as set out in the consent to identity verification. Senders do not need to verify their identity.
A3. Travellers
You carry parcels as an independent person, not as Frolic’s employee or agent. You are responsible for your vehicle, your licence and insurance, and for following the law on your trip.
You may inspect every parcel at pickup and refuse any parcel you are not willing to carry.
[Legal counsel to address: carrying goods in a private vehicle under the Motor Vehicles Act, and the traveller’s insurance.]
A4. Senders
Describe every parcel truthfully, including what is inside it. Hand it over open, so the traveller can check it before it is sealed.
Give a receiver’s name and phone number only with the receiver’s agreement. We use the receiver’s number only to send them the delivery code.
A5. Prohibited items
Never send any of the following:
- narcotics
- weapons and ammunition
- live animals
- explosives and flammable items
- currency and bullion
- alcohol and tobacco
- perishables
- anything that needs a licence to transport
The app shows the current list at every booking, and you accept it each time.
[Final list to be approved by legal counsel.]
A6. Payments
Frolic charges a service fee for each booking. You pay it online through our payment partner, Razorpay.
You pay the traveller their share directly at pickup, by UPI or cash. That payment does not pass through Frolic, so Frolic can refund only its own service fee. The app shows both amounts before you pay.
[Fee amount and when it is charged, to be confirmed.]
A7. Pickup and delivery
At pickup, the traveller checks and photographs the parcel, then enters a one-time code from the sender. At delivery, the traveller enters a one-time code from the receiver and takes a photo.
These records are what we use to settle a disagreement later.
A8. Cancellations and disputes
[Cancellation rules to be written.]
If something goes wrong with a booking, raise a dispute in the app. Frolic’s support team reviews the pickup and delivery records and can refund the service fee in full or in part. Frolic cannot refund the payment you made to the traveller.
A9. Ratings
After a delivery, the sender and the traveller can rate each other. Ratings make up the reputation other users see. Keep ratings honest and about the trip.
A10. Suspension
Frolic may suspend an account that breaks these terms, puts other people at risk or is used for fraud.
[Notice and appeal process to be written.]
A11. Liability
[To be written by legal counsel: Frolic’s liability, the declared value limit, and loss of or damage to parcels.]
A12. Governing law
[Governing law and jurisdiction to be confirmed by legal counsel.]
Part B: Privacy Policy
B1. Who is responsible for your data
Frolic Logistics Private Limited decides how and why your personal data is used. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, that makes us the data fiduciary.
Registered office: Ground Floor, Shantai Sadanika, C S No. 1727/A2, Panchamukhi Maruti Road, near Aditi Recharge & Booking, Tiwari Nagar, Sangli, Maharashtra 416416. Contact: support@froliclogistics.com.
B2. What we collect
- Account: your mobile number, your name and the roles you choose (sender, traveller or both).
- Identity verification, for travellers only: the result of each check, your name as verified, the last four digits of your Aadhaar, your driving licence’s vehicle classes and validity, and your vehicle’s registration number in masked form. The consent to identity verification has the details.
- Trips: your route, departure and arrival times, your vehicle and the space available.
- Parcels: what is inside, size, weight, photos, pickup and drop points, and the receiver’s name and phone number.
- Bookings: pickup and delivery records and photos, progress updates during the trip, ratings and disputes.
- Payments: the status and reference of each service-fee payment. Razorpay handles your card, UPI or bank details, and Frolic does not receive them.
- Consent and security records: which version of each policy you accepted, when, and from which IP address, plus a log of important actions on your account.
B3. What we never store
Your Aadhaar number, Aadhaar XML, driving licence number, date of birth, the address or photo on an identity document, or any image of an identity document. Our verification provider handles these, and Frolic keeps only the results listed above.
We also never store the name of a vehicle’s registered owner.
B4. Why we use it
- To run bookings: matching trips and parcels, connecting senders with travellers, and confirming pickups and deliveries.
- To verify travellers and keep the platform safe, including preventing fraud and the sending of prohibited items.
- To take service-fee payments, make refunds, and keep the records tax law requires.
- To handle support requests, disputes and complaints.
- To meet legal obligations, including lawful requests from authorities.
[Purposes and legal basis to be confirmed by legal counsel.]
B5. Your consent
We ask for your consent for each purpose separately, and record the version of the text you accepted.
You can withdraw your consent at any time [how: in the app’s settings, or by email]. We then stop using your data for that purpose, and the features that depend on it stop working for you. Withdrawing does not affect what was done before.
B6. Who sees your data
- The other person in a booking. Senders see a traveller’s first name, initial and reputation in search results. Once a traveller accepts a booking, the two of you can see each other’s phone number to arrange the pickup. The traveller sees the exact pickup point once they accept, and the drop point and receiver’s name only once they have the parcel.
- Nobody sees the receiver’s phone number. We use it only to send the delivery code by SMS.
- Service providers who work for us: our identity verification provider, Razorpay for payments, an SMS provider for one-time codes, and our hosting provider. They use your data only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data.
B7. Where it is stored
Your data is stored in India.
B8. How long we keep it
[Retention periods for each kind of data, including after you delete your account, to be confirmed.]
We keep payment and tax records for as long as the law requires.
B9. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to:
- give you a summary of your personal data and how we use it
- correct, complete or update it
- erase it
- let someone you nominate use these rights if you die or are unable to
To use any of these rights, email support@froliclogistics.com and include the mobile number on your account.
[Deleting your account in the app and from this website, to be added.]
B10. Security
Your data travels over encrypted connections. Access to personal data is restricted, and every time a Frolic administrator views it, that is recorded. Phone numbers and names are masked in our system logs.
B11. Children
Frolic is only for people aged 18 and over.
B12. Grievance Officer
Our Grievance Officer’s name and contact details are in the contact section of our website. You can also email support@froliclogistics.com or write to our registered office (B1).
We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. [Timelines to be confirmed by legal counsel.]
Changes to this document
Every change is published as a new version at a new address. Earlier versions stay online, so you can always read the text you accepted.
[How and when existing users accept a new version, to be written.]
